I love spring. I love waking up to the sound of the birds and being able to go out for evening walks and still feel warmth lingering in the air. I love watching the buds appear on the trees and bushes and then seeing them grow into leaves and flowers. I love the simplicity and beauty and freshness of spring, and everything it reminds me of. Awakening, purity, new life, being present, enjoying the simple things, passion, hope…
It reminds me of the beautiful life of freedom and love and simplicity and beauty which I’m called to live. And it fills me with such an overwhelming sense of gratitude and affection towards my Creator who placed me in this world and towards my Saviour, who has drawn me to His heart and led me out.
And it fills me with the greatest desire to bloom and blossom, like everything around me is doing.
The rains have soaked the earth
and left it bright with blossoming flowers.
The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived.
I hear the cooing of doves in our land,
filling the air with songs to awaken you
and guide you forth.
Can you not discern this new day of destiny
breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans
are bursting forth.
The budding vines of new life
are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”
Arise, my love, my beautiful companion,
and run with me to the higher place.
For now is the time to arise and come away with me.
– Song of Songs 2:11-13
“If winter has the courage to turn into spring who says I can’t bloom just the same?”
